CactusDynamic is my cactus garden where I record the blooming process of the cactuses through amazing time-lapses.

A short story of the CactusDynamic Garden

A famous local artist (painter-sculptor) from my hometown and his own cacti garden inspired me. Cacti are not specific for the area but he managed to develop a fantastic garden (with more than 5000 species) in his backyard and cellar. In these days his collection was transformed into a big greenhouse dedicated to cactuses and became an important touristic hotspot for the area.

One summer holiday, I had the chance to help the person in charge with the garden management. Since then I always dreamed to create my own cacti garden. However, most of the time I lived in parts of the world quite unfriendly to such plants, so my countless tries to develop such a garden failed miserably.

In the past two years, living also in a non-native area for cacti, I started to obtain some encouraging results. I managed to nurse them until bloom. Their beauty is breathtaking and these results stimulated me to try to develop my dream garden. And step by step I collected more than 100 different species of cacti, a few palms and I started to develop three bonsai. Now I have a small greenhouse where I preserve cacti during winter, and in the summer I take them out.

All this time, I documented the ever growing beauty of the flowers, I took professional shots and I recorded live action of the blooming cacti. The visual results are breathtaking and they represent a crossroad between science, technology and art.

And ,here I am ready to launch  this website dedicated to a multidisciplinary project named “CactusDynamic – details from the world of cacti”.    

About the “CactusDynamic – details from the world of cacti” Project

Developing my garden and recording the blooming cacti, I have gradually realized that all these events represent a marvelous intersection of  nature (growing cactuses) and modern technological visualization, all seen through the glass of artistic spirit. Also, the modern ways of presenting to the world the facts through various social media outlets play a significant role in decision making.

So, I decided to launch the “CactusDynamic – details from the world of cacti” Project, which is my modern take on the world of cacti in my garden. This is a great example of what technology can do and how modern technologies can be used to best protect and enhance nature and its pure beauty.

The heart of the project is this website cactusdynamic.com which is:

A. An index of all my cactuses form the garden with minimal information about the identity and some general specific rules for growing them and of course a lot of high quality images and movies.

B. A hub for all the channels I am using to show the world how my garden came to be:
